Hi all. I recently got a hi-steer kit off Tim, looked at fitting it last night.
Assume I've gotta cut off the old torque rod mount completely?
When I fit the steering box mount, can any of the existing holes in the chassis be used?
Cheers for any help

I do mine similar but different.

I dont use a drill.... I use the plasma and big crush tubes

5mm plate on the outside and 3mm on the inside takes care of strength. I dont like the square edges on the superior plate. Unless your the best welder in the world, it will eventually crack. Another good trick is to chop the dampener mount off the diff and weld it to the underside of the passenger side chassis. Then make a clamp onto the drag link to mount the other end of the dampener. Nice and easy and tucked up

I wish I had a plasma or any oxy/acet plant. Poor old drill took a hammering

Mounted this up.

Hope my welds are good enough to pass a cert... They're ugly but strong. Inside plate is the worst.
Also, looking at my front leaves, does this look shagged to anyone? Need reset or replaced perhaps? its RUF

Replace em
Rule of thumb is set your bump stops with the spring flat, they will happily go a long way past this but they will loose there set and sag from the abuse the other thing I have found is leave the load leaf in and take out the smallest leaf... the load leaf will allow you to lift your bump a bit and delay the sag and it doesn't effect drop
As for resetting springs

save your money they don't hold its a temporary thing... yes I have had people not take this advice best example was 11" of sag in 5yrs

edit the comment about ditching the shortest leaf will depend on the pack some come with a short leaf around 300-400mm long this is the one I was talking about

Steering box often ends up close to the chassis at front.Watch to make sure your drag link does not hit the sump. Some people modify the sump
I got away with using dropped two inch front spring perches and extended shackles on the rear of the springs. Then needed to build longer front driveshaft.
