Take the rocker cover off and inspect the valve train. If its that bad you will soon figure out which one when you wiggle it. Failing that. Big end bearing. But that,ll be more like some one banging a hammer to metallica.

I just replaced a noisy rocker on my 4d56. Definitely gets louder when warm. It was failing due to collapsing bearing in the roller. It was very obvious after I slackened all the adjusters and wiggled the rollers.

Take the rocker cover off. Are any of the adjusters wound noticeably further in? If they are that's good reason for suspicion. Otherwise, back off all the adjusters so the rockers are all loose, then just check for play in the rollers. If you have a loose one it will be very obvious. Mine was so bad, I ran out of adjustment on number 3 exhaust rocker which was the give away. Sounded like a rock bouncing around in the engine .
