What is that article even about?
I'm not sure the author has a point of any kind?
Did he/she state the obvious that not all paper roads are up to spec for their corolla to travel?
Or did they mean to point out the other obvious ideas such as mountain bikers generally prefer to ride mountain bike tracks than dirt roads?
Perhaps that walkers like walking tracks over dirt roads??
Had this article been printed I would say it was a waste of paper.
In any case it doesn't look so bad. Haven't been up there but pretty sure my standard Cherokee (on 31's, no lift) would handle that pictured section just fine.
Dear Author,
what?
P.S Stop being a twat.

The author is quite right, the existing track is eroded and water scoured, but they imply that it is someone else's job to fix that for them. Since it is a legal road, it is likely to be around 20 metres wide and yet it looks like the open track is only the width of a 4WD, about 2 metres. So perhaps the author could have suggested that their community get together and cut the gorse back to form another route within the remaining 18 metres of road width.
It appears that probably the only reason that the route can be walked today is that vehicles have kept the gorse sufficiently at bay. Maybe a deal between the Council and a 4wd club could be done, to spray the worst of the gorse as a public gesture? We need to be seen as proactive in the management of unformed legal roads.

You are absolutely right Peter, and I need to eat my words a bit.
The author is largely correct, I was reacting emotionally to the clearly bias view being pushed. Your suggestion is a good idea. I wonder if such a gesture would receive equal publicity? I'm sure in the long term it would be great.
I'm glad that we have people like you Peter.

There is actually a few "hardcore" tracks up worsleys that have been washed out and over grown if you didn't know they were there you never would major work required to actually get in to the tracks though as over growth is excessive, like peter said if it wasn't for the few trucks that actually go up there i don't think there would be a track at all
