Replacement 3" lift springs ???

Well, the Vitara failed a WoF - miscellaneous wear on things that get submerged and then not serviced. No problem.

The problem item is that one of the calmini front springs has sagged so much the lift is now out of tolerance compared to the cert plate... We always knew those spring had a limited life.

A quick search indicates that Calmini don't do springs separately (although I am still to email them directly). Anyone else had to replace calmini coil springs? Would the FTS lift ones fit?

Looking for full 3" springs, not springs and spacers.

Hi guys I am currently waiting on some custom front springs as my calmini ones are shaged..
Should be here in the next couple of weeks
Will give you my review and experience with them
Had two choices
One keep same lenth but go up in coil diameter
Or keep same diameter as the calmini but more length ..
I didn't want to loose travel so i went with the added length of 30mm
.also read up about merc w124 springs are a good fit and 30mm longer than calmini .good upgrade if you have diesel conversion or heavy front end bumper/winch set up.
I don't cheek offroadexpress much so if you wish to know how it goes email me at vex_drake@hotmail.com

That's good to know, it will be interesting to see how they work out.

I sourced a secondhand set of 3" (or thereabouts) springs from a chap in southland. Still to install them though.

was the wof guy being anal measuring the suspension height or has it sagged so much its sitting on the bumpstops and the tyres are rubbing on the guards?

Probably being a bit anal on the part of the inspector. My in-laws took it in and they didn't think much of the inspector, felt like he was looking for a reason to fail it. They were quite happy to not go back, even if it meant paying a new fee.

But the springs were getting sad and we had known that for a while. And it should stop the camber being all over the place.

Who is a good 4WD specialist in Dunedin? One who is happy working on modified vehicles and has a WoF cert?
