Pto winch drum ,making wider

I have a nissan pto winch on my rangerover .the winch with the big space on the gearbox side . I would to make it wider .any advice would be good .looks like i can extend 30% .

made a drum up myself for this conversion too .,
other shit has got in the way of getting made the end parts of the drum done :oops:
89 safari, pto winch, 33x15 simexs. sliders,75mm lift . turbo intercoolered

somebody else would probably know but I think the mk/mq winches have a longer main shaft than the gq's so you could probably get some additional width there, when you make your new drum up you can use some heavy wall 50mm tube to decrease the internal diameter from the standard drum 80mm and get quite a few more (metres :D ) wraps on the drum, you'll need to work out how to put a seal on the new drum to keep all the water and mud and shit getting inside the drum and seizing the drum and main shaft up so it'll still freespool freely :D
