Re: td27 removal
pop the bonnet off, disconnect all the accessories, wiring, hoses and linkages etc, label everything as you go, pull the radiator out, undo the bellhousing and engine mount bolts, jiggle the engine around a bit and lift it out

Re: td27 removal
thanks bud
im not a novice at motor swaps
but just wanted to know if I had to drop the front diff or anything like that
but thanks for the reply

where abouts are you?
1st step is borrow an engine lift,
2nd step is get a 24box of icy cold beers
3rd step tempt a knowledgeable individual to come give you a hand
4th step try keep the beers in the fridge till you have the first motor out then you have a good chance of getting the new one in.
if you can't be bothered labelling take photos on your phone or similar,
also as you remove the wiring/plumbing from one engine check the plugs/etc are the same on the new engine,
also I find driving the truck onto ramps to get all the lower half of the bell housing bolts out then removing the front wheels and sitting the x member on some 6" blocks will give the truck enough rake to level the engine up and allow it to slide out easy,
if its auto don't forget to remove the torque converter bolts before separating the engine and trans,
And lastly most libraries have Haynes manuals in the reference section so you can photocopy the relevant instructions for the task (they tend to look at you a biit funny if you come in covered in grease and oil so might pay to grab them first if you're unsure)

Re: td27 removal
getting the trucks nose down helps,
beers/lubricant helps.
done one you done them all, they're pretty sensible the japs so you don't have to pull half the engine apart just to get the starter motor out like my old Vauxhall
give everything that looks as if it would bind a soaking with wd40/penetron a day out

Re: td27 removal
being a nissan it may be easier to pull the engine box out together as one piece do all the work on the floor then mate the box back onto it so you can line the clutch plate/spigot/input shaft up easily then slot the whole lot back in.
may seem like more work but its only a gear stick circlip a tail shaft and some cross member bolts, but it's a damn sight easier then trying to jiggle an engine and box back together whilst on your back under the truck.
then there is trying to get all the exhaust dump pipe fitted back onas apposed to leave it on and undo it at the flange by the gearbox.

Waiter...there is a drought in my glass.
Re: td27 removal
My guess would be to either drop front diff so you can move engine forwards, or to remove gearbox and clutch/flywheel so engine can lift straight up. (shape of sump is limiting factor).
What access you have to what gear (hoist etc) will depend on what method suits you better.
