are you wanting a 1.2 ratio or the 1.4 ratio?

What diff ratios did you use when converting diffs? Given you have the 35's tyres you might be better off with a 1.4 from a Defender rather than the 1.2 from Discovery.

1.6:1 is a lower ratio box and is only from the Land Rover 110 4 cylinder models 84 to around 89-90. Seldom is it found in a Defender.
A discovery 1.2:1 is the 'higher' ratio as Discovery (and Range Rover) used smaller wheels so was geared higher for road.
The 1.4:1 ratio is what was used in 90's, 110's and Defenders through to 2007.

In all those transfer cases the low ratio is the same and the number reference (such as 1.6:1) only refers to the high range or road.

If it was mine, I would be looking for a replacement transfer case in the ratio I required.

Too much trouble setting up centre diff and gears to make it worth repairing unless you can't find the box you require.

But if you want to opt for the 1.2:1 then they are from RRC and Discovery 1 and are generally readily available.
Its the 1.4:1 and more so the 1.6:1 that are harder to find, therefore cost more.

Just remember once back together to engage that centre diff lock as soon as you venture off road. It is small and you are running very large tyres.
