no prob at all as long as use at least a 75mm cable and have a really good earth. recommended you run a fuse at each end of cable to protect it from a short. will have to be big rated fuses though if running winch. ideally you would also use a dual battery system to charge your main battery first then your second on tray but these can have issues once a winch comes into it due to current draw.

75mm is quite large. cable size would really depend on what you want to use it for.

I running electric winch and falcon fans using twin 700cca battery's and 75mm cable between batteries which are between each head light even then volts drop when winching and fans kick on at same times using a 1uz 120amp alt. but stabilizes quick.
Id just run big cable with no dual battery controller. prob best you go to 95mm just to be save with that load over that distance. what size alternator you running?

Given that you are considering entering winch challenges this is the recommendation from the 2up Adapters website ....
[i]Consideration needs to be given to battery cable size as most factory standard winches are supplied with barely adequate cables. For competition we recommend 90mm2 cables minimum.[/

stnd 1uz alt... yea will run 95mm cable to battery already got 90mm wire from original battery and winch studs
