CHCH Xmas BBQ 9/10 Dec 06

Post by billyvanboheman »

Just thought I would kick this off with a very happy kiwigirldiv, after a jaunt in Mikes Landrover, I think the smile says it all, and the comment after which was that the ride was F@#k'n awesome :!: :!: :!:

Bwahahahaha, at least Matts truck only had to have a little rest a couple of times because of over heating. It still sounded good but not as good as Mikes.

Great weekend, great company, great weather, great location, great tracks and really couldnt have asked for a better bonfire (fully natural fire that melted your chair as you sat in it  )

Some Highs:
LR running on 8 cylinders for about 10 mins :D
LR climbing everything it was pointed at :D
Singing Supras
Steep greasy farm clay hill climbs in canterbury
Giving everyone a ride in the LR meaning I had to do each of the climbs 1000 times 8)
Getting pissed in front of a fire
First time on the lower waipra river and amberly rocks
watching Al flood the new truck on the its first outing
running round like an idiot with the vid camera for footage to download.
kiwipete scare the horses and cows with his snoring

Some Lows:
LR Running on 7 cyclinders for 4 hours, 6 cylinders for 2 hours, 5 and less for 30 mins
Singing Supras never missing a beat (dam rover engines)
getting shot 150 times in the leg by a BB gun
watching Al flood his new truck
Not being able to go upriver because of high water levels.
Realising how much finishing work there is left on the LR
Jinxing Al yet again.
Matt blowing his diff (Co-pilot had nothing to do with it  )

For those that have footage of the LR I would love to get a copy of it somehow purrrtyy please. If you can email to mike@ore.co.nz or grab a CD of it sometime that would be primo.

I'm off to bed, shattered.

Yeah it was a great time, hope I diddnt offend too many of you with my antics. There is a rather large blank spot on the old memory. I seem to be missing quite a few hours.

I started an album for the photos/videos of the CHCH Xmas weekend, I have opened the permissions so you can all add photos or videos if you want, I will keep it open for a couple of weeks to give everyone who was there time to upload.

At least you are lucky enough that some were nice enough to video you to help fill in some of the blanks

Were the horses and cows talking to you in the morning after you kept them awake all night I hear :?:

Don't worry Matt... Riks done this very operation several times himself :)

...actually most people with an over-powered Hilux, big feet or just a heavy right foot get to do this at some time with their 'lux... (me included)

Was nice to catch up with a couple of people and whizz around the farm on the quad for an hour or so... now if I can just find some space to get some work done I'll get a new truck running for the next event... something that will sound like Mikes, and be as reliable as Riks.. oh, wait.. no I want it to be a little more reliable than that :)

Steve (is back, briefly at least)

Great vid 8) - for some reason it won't allow you to jump forward/reverse, & stops just after the 9min mark :?: .
