WTD. TD42 sump

Post by glued »

Hi lads,im after a sump if anyone has one, mine is sweating oil through the bowl welds,no point fixing it as I have a no gas welder and it will just leak again. If anyone has one, give me a yell.
Cheers

Hi,

As you are going to have to take it off to change ot why don't you take it off clean the weld areas and have someone else re weld it for you?

heya...all the welds are pretty naffed by the looks of it,i could get someone to weld it but id say they will be chasing leaks most of the time as its pretty thin metal to begin with, and all the edges of the welds will be thinner than the metal or the welds themselves. If nobody has a spare that may be my only option, bugger is im on the manukau heads and its a 70km round trip into town.

If thats ya lark, either try to use a bonding material from a tube or get the fella doing it to grind then all back well and braze it. I have done a lot of sump repairs by brazing (Turbo oil returns)in a previous life and never had a problem.
