1000's for sale on trademe mate, how much you've got to spend usually determines what you get, if you've got the budget try and get a hot dip galv one trailers start getting a bit rusty and deteriorate after spending years sitting outside in the weather, make sure you get a wide deck a lot of them are made for cars and your hilux wont fit on you'll probably need a minimum of 1850/1900mm to get your truck on but don't forget to allow for when you stick wider wheels/rims/spacers on your truck in the future its a pain in the arse having to sell your trailer to buy a wider one or piss about sticking narrow wheels on your truck to transport it, don't try and squeeze your truck on if it dosent fit you only end up bending the sides and cracking all the welds if you get one without brakes its ugly to tow as well as probably illegal for the weight your carrying and drum brakes are also ugly make sure its got disc brakes, try and avoid anything with oddball 1964 singer vogue or 1972 ford transit hubs that'll always be hard to find bearings, stub axles, rims and parts for you'll only end up stranded in the shit somewhere with no way to fix your trailer or get your truck home , some people like solid mount axles with no suspension, some like durotorque axles and some like leaf rocker suspension its over to you what you get but I like and prefer rocker leaf suspension, if it hasn't got led lights throw some on they work on 12 or 24 volts so theres no mucking around changing bulbs or blowing bulbs when towing with different trucks, duo coupling's that fit both 1 7/8 and 50mm balls are also pretty handy saves mucking about changing balls around . Unless you happen to come across a bargain or have a pile of spare steel and a welder sitting around doing nothing personaly I think cheap trailers needing a bit of work usually turn out to be false economy so research your choice well, fixing up brakes and shit on a cheap trailer sounds good but after you've priced up all the Trojan components and callipers and shit it starts adding up leaving a decent sized hole in your pocket Rant over and Good Luck
