Hope all you Rover nuts managed to catch the TV3 show Saturday night called 'For the love of cars'.
I'm a Toyota fan but still really enjoyed this show, great to see an old girl being restored again, had some cool side stories about Landrovers around the world to.

A bit sad, but I re-arranged my entire weekend to see that!

I'm enjoying the series.
Nice to see some "simple restorations" done as they left the factory.

Also check out 'Car SOS'. Same sort of show but they do surprise restos for people who can't do it themselves usually after some major medical problem.. They also did a series one landy.

Just watched it on TV3 on demand.
Excellent show, although as a Landrover owner I would have preferred less of the background fluff and more detail on the fabrication of the chassis repair section!
The episode on the Escort Mexico was a good one too.
Cheers,
Mark.

I don't like the presenters attitude/care towards the vehicles that he is involved with. He doesn't have anywhere near the same levels of passion and understanding as the younger fella he works with or the other people that help out the restoration. And he can't drive to save himself...
This is an awesome and interesting show, but it would be much better if they found someone who really loves and appreciates everything that happens to these vehicles.

^^ Definitely, his efforts at ripping a skid in the escort were pathetic.

And it seems a bit unfair that one person puts all the effort into the build and then has to hand the keys over for someone else to do the testdrive

But it is only a t.v. show so can't really take it too seriously I suppose...

Apparently he's a car fanatic??
Philip Haywood Glenister (born 10 February 1963) is an English actor, best known for his role as DCI Gene Hunt on the British television series Life on Mars and its sequel Ashes to Ashes.
He must have a contract with a tv company and they needed to give him some work so chucked him in, its s shame, they should have put one of the old fifth gear presenters on it, atleast they would be a bit more enthusiastic. The show was dropped after 6 episodes.. where all cars were sold at auction.
