If you knew how he drove, then you'd know what the grader blade was for

is the effort required for a diff shave on the safari really worth it?
ie does it really gain much?
I ask as I have saf and ive discovered my front diff has a small oil weep from a weld, and may need to strip to repair.
I was considering to get diff strengthened as well too but didn't think a diff shave achieved much.

well i went out with north cantabury 4wd club into the blackburn and seddonville most of them had safaris and some had diffs shaved and it did make a difference when i was watching them traverse different terrain ... personally i just did it cos i could and im only running 33 " mudders so drag my diff every where .. im also going to put lsd in front diff so yet to try it out but as smurf said im ruf on it  as for the strengthening this set up is a test diff ... if it works like i hope i wont brake it or bend it and still be able to push through tracks in my usual way with a bit more force

I guess Nissans need all the help they can get to keep up with the Toyotas lol.

But seriously ... I hope you braced the diff as you were welding it to keep it from twisting from the heat of the welding.
