So what are you guys with rag tops using for the upper seatbelt mounts?

I am looking at the options for perhaps making up a rag top for my hj45 ute, but the seatbelt upper mounts are in the rear section of the cab which I want to take off. Might have to cut and weld my rust filled spare cab back so I can use the belt mounts.

Any pics would be greatly appreciated.

when you take the roof off you mount the seat belts on the roll cage, they usually make you weld the seatbelt mounts on the back of the B hoop so theres no forward facing projections to smack your scone on :D , if your driving around in your cruiser with no roof and no cage or b hoop your a brave man :D

Problem with a cage as such is that I dont want the backstays going out the back of the cab and into the tray. I want to be able to put the top on without removing a cage and messing around with the belt mounts.

I will stick with a hard top rather than drive topless without belts and a bar. Was trying to get some ideas to show the certifier so I could maybe get him to see things my way.

Anyone got a 45 series ute with a canvas top?

How old is she ??

Does it require 3 point or is a lap belt suffice for its age ?

79 so it has 3 point belts.

Seat belt restraint bar (or whatever they are called) have specs that sound a lot like a roll cage.

Might just have to find pics of 45s with rag tops and hope for an internal shot.
