just keep the 413 trans they have heaps of gearing options and the rear hilux diff being centered is no problem, then chuck any small rwd engine and gbox with a small tail shaft to transfer and your away.

That would be a long list . Start with what engine you want and go from there .
Small - suzuki G16 with a factory t/case .
Large - one option is lexus with auto and surf t/case but the sky is the limit

(I never said it was a good idea , just looking for the right offset

)

Step 1: Sell 413.
Step 2: Buy a hilux.
Might as well if you are going to change all the running gear...

yeah nah half the fun is in building it,
have a 3.8 and t700 spare what side does the bighorn transfer swing off? can it be clocked just on the bolts?
expect hilux diffs will handle that on 31's

Except you could just run the stock motor and drivetrain on 31's with lower gearing and it would shit all over a commonwhore motor and luxy diffs. Maybe the fun is in building it but what's the point if it isn't any more capable when you've finished? Don't get me wrong if that's what you want go for it, I just don't see the point.

problem being is I can't sit still generally and hilux diffs were less than a locker for one diff,
6 inches wider than what we have currently and with time on our hands this will be capable enough easily.
It's a trailer job anyway with no doors and no current reg or hope of getting one.
similar situation you had I suppose where the rugger required a lift but a locker would have benefitted just as much.
can't complain either that the chap that sold me the diffs left them in a cabbed chassis with wheels that was easily A framed home that may recoup a bit for the bush truck fund once the rest heads off to scrap

if its a trailer truck knocking around in the bush I wouldn't get too hung up over driveshaft angles

engine trans combo depends what sort of truck you want to build you can make anything fit
