issue with our camera/camping truck.

the surf we use for bigger trips for hauling the camping gear spare parts etc has developed a minor issue i was hoping some one may shed some light on as i am not a Toyota man.
It is a LN130 2lte or for the layman a 2.4 turbo diesel with the electronically controlled injector pump.
It's lost it's up in go on hill's it goes okay i guess for a 2.4 but lately having to change down to 3rd on hills instead of holding at around 80-85 in fourth.
The other symptoms it has, started to idle a little high and when ya put ya foot flat to the floor and then ease of slightly it picks up a little.
I've come across this issue once before but for the life of me can't remember. probably something simple no doubt.
