EGT gauge

Post by MUDFINDER »

Hi, Just curious if it is necessary to run a Exhaust gas temperature gauge on a petrol vg30 pathfiner?

I'm blanking off the EGR valve and piping on the intake manifold as I am now running a turbo setup on my vg30. I've seen that a few people are running EGT gauge's, but mainly only the diesel engines? I don't know if it is necessary or beneficial to run one on my setup though? Any advice would be much appreciated :)

Also... I've heard a few rumors going around that Land Transport is supposedly going to make M/T tyres such as SIMEX and other offroad tyres illegal for road use?? Pretty sure it's just bullshit but found it kinda interesting.. Was having a chat with a guy from Land transport about it the other day and he hadn't heard anything of it, but reckoned it could possibly go ahead? I asked why and he couldn't think of any particular reason, but said possibly because of all the mud and shit that gets thrown out onto the road.... Which i think isn't really a tyre issue, it's more to do with trucks that aren't clean when leaving wherever?
