Whipped out the starter motor in the Bitsalux as it wasn't wanting to rotate. Solenoid kicked in fine, but no go with the motor.
Pulled it apart and gave it a really good once over. Was surprised to see how clean it was inside as I was expecting mud and crap all through it.
Anyways, I found RTV sealant had been used on the mating surfaces from the factory or when someone last had it apart. Over time this seemed to degrade the proper electrical grounding to the brushes when the high start current was needed, hence why the solenoid was fine, but not the starter motor, and also why resistance checks seemed to be fine going between the case of the motor back to the negative terminal of the battery.
Threw it back in and now she starts up just fine

Replaced sway bar bushes, moved the exhaust back down off the cross member which got a beating last weekend

.
Replaced damaged grease nipple on UJ, found water level going down in radiator, need to pressure test to see where it going. The rust stain by the filler cap is probably a good indicator.
Vacuumed and washed it.

How was the track, haven't done it for about 8 years, looking to do a club trip before it closes.

did it in 2wd in december. you `need to get some long tie rod adjusters and use the short tie rods.

Tracks in pretty good nick. We went Owhango to Kapoors road side which I think made it a little more interesting. Don't even know how i managed the bend haha

I like the idea about that, but just a little hesitant on account of the whole "wofable" thing

Yeah would be nice but couldnt happen at the time. But the oned i knocked up still have the threaded tie rod ends right through the guts of it even without welding, plenty strong enough.
