had a wiring issue that finally got bad enough to find which was corroded fuse block in the engine bay not allowing the computer to power up sometimes. Cleaned that up and it went good as gold. Change of priorities saw me sell it before getting it on the road. The new owner had it certed and then it had a pretty hard life with some youg chch guys until i saw it for sale again a couple of months ago.
It was selling cheap as it wasn't going, I told the guy to have a look at the fuse box and a month later it was still for sale. So in my wisdom I thought I would buy it. Went to chch to get it and it was much rougher than I had expected. Got it home and cleaned the fuse box and it fired into life. I buggered around enough so i could take it for a quick drive and when I pulled back into our gate it died again. Had lost power completely to the fuse box. As I was trying to work my way through the spaghetti wiring it fixed itself and then died again. Should be an easy fix but it has now been sitting for another month and in reality I have way too much on.
So it's for sale again!!!!
$2000 buys it. Its a lot of truck for the money but needs a heap of work to get it on the road. With a bit of time and $ you could have a road legal truck that is very capable off road
The good....
Certified!!!
reg on hold
lock right diff in the back
lsd in the front
all pro disk break hand brake (worked mint when I had it much better than the trial gear one i have on my truck now but needs new pads)
rear disk brakes
rear ubolt flip
solid bar work (rough)
internal role bar/half cage (certed)
5m supra!!!!
gbox seems ok (didn't drive it far)
had had a torque rod added to the back and leaves removed to get it to flex better
The bad
as per photos she is ROUGH!
tyres bald
some rust coming through (rough enough it could just be touched up and painted)
needs new brake pads on hand brake
diff torque arm bent
steering box leaking
wiring needs tidied up
dodgy twin battery set up could probably be removed
no batteries
rear brakes need new rotors pads and possibly a new piston on one side (had been run for so long there was no pad left and piston out so far it leaked - I have blocked off rear brakes)
motor ran rough when I took it for a drive, should come right with a bit of a tune as I think the previous guy tried a few things to get it going suspect firing order and timing etc

It's now in Queenstown but I could probably help with delivery between here and chch, dunedin or invercargill
Cheers
