how stuffed is it 2.5 l200

so i drove the truck down to the milking shed and turned it off. started her up and the motor was making a little bit of noise nothing unusal though got to the end of the tanker track and went to indicate and the motor stalled. i restarted it and she chucked out some black and white smoke got 10 metres down the road still blowing smoke died and refused to go again. didnt seem to have any power when i pulled out onto the road. any ideas on wha the problem might be or how screwed i am cheers.

describe the "bit of noise" as a 4d56 is normally quite noisey anyway

the noise was kinda normal just alot louder and there was also quiet alot of i dunno maybe whinning noise coming from the front end of the motor

the frount of the motor dose it sound like wuring noise

Does it start now? If not does it sound the same as before when you crank it, or does it wind over faster?
It might be cam belt failure. Generally OK to fix with a new belt but you may need some new rockers.

doesnt start at all. the noise was almost a sqreching rattle and the normal motor noise was a hell of a lot louder all the belts at the front are in tact and tight. hopefully the boss is going to help me tow it down to the local workshop and see if they can work it out. just trying to get a rough idea for what it might be and what im in for. if the motors stuffed it'll probably be on the next truck to the scrapers and ill have to find a cheap car to drive for a while. kind of a bugger really as i just replaced the starter motor last weekend and have only driven it once since then.

could be a list of things
could be balance shaft bering going for a walk. oil pump witch is attached to that. water pump seizing and stopping everything from moving i had that happen b4.
u had smoke i read could be a ring or rod or piston list keeps going being a mitsi but they simple as motors once u open them up

yup garage is going to investigate it and get back to me now but looks like ill be putting the old girl down shortly as i cbf putting more money into it lol.

hopefully it isnt to major mine was just balance shaft bering pulled them out rebuilt it

yh i wont really know until the garage looks at it. eithier way im going to get rid of her now to much money thrown at it.
