Indicator Issue

Post by zukmeista »

Ok so I have had LED tail lights on my '88 Rugger for ages and they worked fine. Recently changed front indicators/park lights to LED also and now indicators don't work? Hazards still work fine, fuse is intact. Have non load sensing flasher unit installed. Used to have same parts on my Suzuki with no problems so not sure why it's not working on this truck. Any suggestions please?

Do the front LED's light up when hazards are on, and normal indicators work when swapped for the lEDs?

Maybe it is looking for more resistance?

Yep all lights flash with hazards on.

I have some inline resistors, used them when I put LED's on my motorbike to slow the flash rate before I changed the flasher unit.

Can drop them off in town, Whangarei tomorrow, if you want to try them in the circuit to see if they work

Sorry maybe didn't make it very obvious in post, I have a non load sensing flasher unit fitted so resistance shouldn't matter. Thanks for the offer though.

Do the indicators work if you put the bulbs back in?

Even with a non load sensing flasher you need some load to turn it on. Try a resistor on one indicator and see what happens, even a bulb test lamp may be enough for testing.

yep you will need a resister, been there and done that  and i think you need to ground the resister as well as i had it in series and it didnt work,

auto sparks just gave me that stupid face after i described what i did, and then set me straight :D
