im going to do the exhaust on my vitara soon.....im going to run extractors and a 2" pipe with no catalic converter and just one high flow muffler
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... d=82234382 what i want to know is i wana bypass all the performance losing bends that go over the rear diff after the muffler and just point it straight down to the ground after the muffler is this legal or does the exhaust have to stick out the back? there is no option for me to put it out the side as there is no room unless i wana sandwhich it between a rock and the chassis rail

cheers

has to be past the doors I think, and has to exit out the side or back

bugger

may have to rethink that one

it will be past the doors..........just

but i cant see the problem if its facing the ground as its not really allowing the gasses to enter the vehicle.......im gunna go down to the WOF man and have a chat at some stage

my van has it sticking out the side. i had mrs rav cut off under vehicle as i fitted a tow bar.. was a week before i got round to fixing exhaust and you can really smell it in the car etc.. i recommend you send it outside your vehicle.. i have seen hotrods dumping under the car but...unsure of legal side.. hey its your car. who cares about wofs...

no less than 300mm behind the rear out board seating position and must clear the body so as gasses cannot be turbulated back inside the cab via trans tunnel boots ,holes in the floor etc.....
from memory

i wasnt able to side exit mine in front of the back wheels because of being a soft top. i thought that if you had back windows that open the exhaust had to be behind them too. have you had a wof without the rear seats already? i thought you had to remove the rear seatbelts and reregister it as a 2 seater (technicly....
