Stolen 1988 d/c Hilux lifted on 33s
Stolen 1988 d/c Hilux lifted on 33s
Stolen on March 10th. Didn't think to post here before and the police know who took it, so I thought it was going to be an open and shut case, but they still haven't located it. Has a 2" suspension lift, near new 33"KL71s on black 15" steel rims, roof is matt black. Was taken from Glenfield, supposedly the guy who took it is from somewhere around Mangere.
Also, does anyone know where I could go to get a valuation for it? The insurance are telling me it's worth $3000, yet I can't find a single 4x4 Hilux for sale in NZ for less than $5000

a member on here Quadracer may chime in as he works in the insurance industry and could point you in the right direction, but I would've assumed that the insurance company would've been able to assess it
otherwise find a truck very similar to that one in a lot of aspects and forward the info to insurance company.. Lots come into play.. was it agreed value ? market value.. etc etc.. mods..? etc.. as all these things either add to value etc.. good luck trying to find it.. too many trucks are going missing..

Argue with the insurance company. Email them a bunch of trademe listings (that have closed with reserve met or have buy nows) and show them that the "market value" of your vehicle is not what they are saying it is.
I did this (not about a vehicle) and they were forced to agree that what they were saying was market value clearly was not.
In any case, don't take their shit.
