Servicing Intervals.....

I recently bought a 2008 130 Defender twin cab from a dealer. I was told by him that it had been serviced by them in readiness before i took ownership.

My question's are....

1) Miles/Km between services..?

2) How long do glow plugs last..?

3) What grade of oil to use and would you change the diff fluids at the same time..?

4) Is it fairly straight forward for myself to do as i do like to work on my vehicles..?

and finally.... does anybody know where i can get a workshop manual for it...?

Thanks in advance for all you help and advice....... :D :D

It is always better to refer to the owners handbook for service details and oil specification for your particular vehicle.

Oil spec should be 5W30 meeting ACEA A5/B5 specs

A copy of the service schedule sheet can be found at http://www.defender2.net/gallery/albums ... ksheet.jpg

2010 Models

All services should be carried out at the distance or time based intervals shown below (whichever occurs first) or as shown on the service interval indicator in your Vehicle.
•Every 10 000km's or 6 Months - Which ever is sooner, thereafter

2009 Models

Your vehicle is fitted with an electronic service indicator. This indicator will appear for only a few seconds on your odometer, before your kilometer reading or other information is displayed. The following intervals apply to all 2009 model year vehicles.

Defender Tdi:
•No Service Indicator
•Every 10 000km's or 6 Months - Which ever is sooner, thereafter

Defender Td5 and 2.4 Diesel:
•No Service Indicator
•Every 10 000km's or 6 Months - Which ever is sooner, thereafter

2008 Models and earlier

All services should be carried out according to the distance or time based intervals shown below (whichever occurs first).

Defender Tdi:
•Every 10 000km's or 6 Months - Which ever is sooner, thereafter

Defender Td5 and 2.4 Diesel:
•Every 10 000km's or 6 Months - Which ever is sooner, thereafter

Not sure if there is a specific workshop manual available yet. Might be something on CD by now though. Check the link provided by Badco.
