Hey, everyone.
New guy here. Currently have a KZJ78 Prado (LWB).
So, I had another KZJ78 LWB, and I chucked that over a bank so I bought another one (new one being auto though) and currently changing engine, trans and loom over but have a couple questions.
Does anyone know of any simple fixes to get the manual G/box to bolt in securely? Turns out the manual and auto chassis are different. Second, where's the cheapest places to find a snorkel kit for these?
Also, once the conversion has been completed, I'll have a few things to try get rid of from the old beast. Engine, Auto trans, diffs, etc. essentially a whole nother Prado. But nothing will be going until I know this new one is sweet.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Noob & also after a lil help
I would have thought the chassis the same but where the cross member is bolted to is different, autoz are longer in the drive train than manuals so have a look for any captive nuts in the chassis which would allow for moving the cross member down or up.. 80 series cruisers are like this so might be just find the holes and insert a couple nuts so you can bolt it up..

Yea, I thought the chassis would be the same , also. Unfortunately, where the G/box X/members bolt up to the chassis, the auto one is further back as you've said but the brackets where they bolt on, are welded to the chassis. X/member doesn't bolt to the chassis as such, but to the plates welded to the chassis. Also, the auto and manual X/members are quite differrent in both bolt holes to the chassis and bolt holes to the trans mounts. Was hoping someone knew of a different X/member to use or if there were some adaptor plates to bolt onto auto X/member to suit manual G/box mount. Guess I'm gonna have to visit the engineer and get an LVVC.

Where are you?
Re: Noob & also after a lil help
Whitianga in the Waikato region. Sorry, I'll learn how to change my profile at some point. Just in the middle of putting the original engine back into the new chassis.
