Taken off another forum....FYI
Hi everyone,
Saw this in the local paper today:
Plea to save terns
> The conservation department is urging visitors to Onoke Spit in southern
> Wairarapa to ditch their cars and walk in a bid to protect nesting Caspian
> terns. The spit is one of the few remaining nesting areas of the vulnerable
> bird. DOC biodiversity programme manager Phil Brady said vehicles being driven
> across the spit could be deadly for the terns.

country at the moment.
