Front anti-roll bar Vitara/Grand Vitara

Post by nstacey »

Has anyone removed the front anti-roll bar in their Vitara/Grand Vitara? Can you advise if the handling is affected too much?

I stripped out the thread on one of the captive nuts in the chassis while replacing my clutch. In hindsight I should have left the bar in place.

Should I try tapping it out to take a larger bolt? If that doesn't work, I suppose the only other option is to cut out the mount and get some new captive nuts welded back in?

I pulled mine out of my Vitara for offroading and it didn't effect the on road manners too much.

If you want to keep it you could try tapping out whats left to the next size up thread or if the nut has completely gone try a rivnut in there if it will fit.

Ours has long gone. Even been through a cert without it. Seems OK on road, not that we do much of that....
