1kz-te Head Gasket water holes

Post by Crabmc »

Hi all.
Can someone please tell me why the head gasket comes with only 3 holes for water circulation. Is this not what caused it to overheat?
Looking at the engine block and head I can clearly see that there are 8 holes.
Is this the design or are we supposed to punch in the holes our selves with regards to engine type?

Regards

There has been talk about this very subject at ih8mud.com and in therory you do not need to add more holes. The Jap engineers have designed it that way. But some have opened up more. Results pending.
