Hi all,

obviously new here. i've been on here a couple of times following links to builds and so on. and now i see theres quite a zook section here, and i hope to be able to give as much as i have learnt off here.

i drive a Suzuki Vitara, 1989 model, 2 door soft top. a few little things done to it, but nothing crazy.

i live in Australia, but at the top end of OZ. town is called Darwin, in the Northern Territory. i'm 23 and have had my Vit for 3 years now. still a work in progress, but its what i can afford.

seems like you guys over in NZ have lots of goodies and zooks to play around with. sometimes i get a bit jealous, but thats only because i live in a part of aus which is away from the rest of OZ.

simex's are only 31"x10.50"x15". hopefully getting the 34"s in the new year.

i suppose i should post up some details if my vit. saves people asking all the questions when the time comes.

OK, so it's not so pretty or to show standards, and it's never going to win a prize for anything at all, but it's my Vit, and it goes where i point it. It's sort of water proof, or should i say, it's more water resistant. Its practical, and just about everything on it works and serves a purpose in letting me get a lot further before getting bogged or stuck on or in something.

if anyone would like pics of anything on my vit, i am happy to post them up for you.

zuk numbers are on the rise in this forum.. no doubt their deviot little eyes will peruse your vehicle and conjour more perverse 4wding mods to impose on their rigs.. ah, the never ending circle..

p.s.. how do you find the welded front diff on solid ground and in turning arc's? pain in the arse or is the zuk ifs different?

the welded front is a pain in the a$$. i wish i had stayed open until i had gotten some power steering. but then again, it is worth twice its weight (no pun intended) as it gets me everywhere.

steering is heavy, real heavy, and i cant steer too well on dry or high traction surfaces, so i keep the drivers hub unlocked and in 2wd only. if i want, i can shift to 4wd which will leave me with positive 3wd until i lock the drivers side hub.

i do a lot of wet weather and mud driving, so the welded front is really good.

i have learnt to drive with it, and i dont have to go to the gym for a work out. lol. anyway, yeah, its good for what i do, and you do learn little tricks on how to drive it easier like turning in reverse is a lot easier than turning going forwards.
