we recently brought a d21 pathfinder with a rather sad z24 4 cylinder petrol and a manual box.....

the plan is to convert it to diesel as we paid nothing for the car from my parents.

the question is, will the manual petrol box mate up to the td27? as i can buy a motor/long block and get it wired up by an auto sparky mate.


or do i need to buy the box as well, also if i have to buy a diesel box will my petrol axles mate up to the diesel box?


any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bell housing pattern is different between petrol and diesel. Can be swapped, but its the front half of gearbox housing that needs doing.

cool cheers, did a little bit more looking through the web and found the same deal. easier to just buy motor and box by the looks.

If you gearbox is in good nick buy a farked td box and swap the bellousing. A good td box is worth good money.

is this something i could do myself, or is it pull the whole box apart? as i have found a donor terrano, but the gearbox has no reverse haha.

so could potentially use td27bellhousing, z24 internals, and diesel motor.....

will either part it out or sell whats left as a whole....


at a guess ill be pulling the tank, motor box n transfer, driveshaft, fuel lines? diesel pump, exhaust, 2'' lift kit, front seats as my drivers seat is ripped...... maybe some other bits n pieces.

i'll list it here first once ive got what i want.
