creepy crawlers....
what a shame they don't do the creey crawler in smaller sizes like 33's , etc - would be a big seller . they look like an incredible tyre to me , seem really cheap for the design & build quality , shame i don't want 35's on my fourby .
Anyone have them on ther rig and what do you think of them ? any other tyre in such hi spec as this tyre in your opinion ?

i had 35 inch creepys on my dcab and my mate had the same set up turck except 35inch goodyear wrangler mtr's and he went every where i could go in the mud rocks ect and the goodyears went better in the riverbed and also 100% better on the road
have a read through the tyres section there is some good info in there

Im going to buy some creepies. They have really impressed me, after having used them on my dads patrol. Their road manners are not exactly "great", but I wont be using them on the road everyday.
To get the most out of creepies, you have to let them down to low pressures. They dont start bagging till below 15psi.
Another good thing, is that if you have a light vehicle, you can get a puncture, and you could probably still drive on it (0psi on the creepies, on the landrover looks just fine to drive on).
Oh, they also look cool too

I was looking at going Goodyear MTR's , well that was until i looked into it a bit via sites in the USA, sapposedly the MTR's are not that strong and can be easily puntured , think they're great on road , especially the new ones with the silica compound in them.
I want a tyre that has side biters and fairly aggressive , but can be used as a daily driver , only tyre's i can think of come from the Mickeythompson stable of tyres , wonder who does the DickCepek tyres in NZ ? The Dick cepek FC2's are good for that !

Don't know what the secret is, oftentimes on-road I am only running @ 14PSI, and if I hadn't experienced this wear characteristic for myself I would have difficulty accepting this as a truisim. I also got great k's from my former set of ET's.

Never seen a set Mickey Thompsons impress me yet. If you are set on side biters, look into the BFG Mud terrain. I wouldn't worry too much about what the yanks are saying, we have a set of 37" MTRs that go out with us rock crawling all the time (and they have never had a flat yet, plenty of missins on them thou').
Tyres are all about what type of driving you plan on doing the most ie compromise, so figure out what you are planning on driving on, and buy to suit.
Personally I run 39.5" swampers, they are complete shit on the road and in pea gravel, but they are soft compound and hang onto rocks really well, even when wet, so they suit my needs well.
Ugly is a state of mind..... and the state of my truck!

Got any pics with the swampers on your surf?
What pressure do you run them at?

:
A mate of mine just got rid of his creepies - couldn't get them to bag on his lux at 8psi

In regards to G/Y MTRs v others, I've got a set of 35x12.5 mtrs on one Lux and they're good (bag nicely but no punctures yet). Then I've got General Grabbers on my other lux, bag nicely too, but I've staked 2 and have badly worn the sidewalls on the others.
some one can make me an offer on the 37" creepies if they want. they 98% new.
I think they are crap. have swampers anyday. im with rok on this one. im hooked on swampers.
can run the 37's at 3 psi on the cruiser without a drama. but i just not interested as i think they are crap for what i want.
MAKE AN OFFER.

Dont follow me. i'll get stuck and need a tow..

don't use tham as soon as you get them to get the best out of them let them sit and cure for about 3 months in a dry place out of the sun
my old man used to do this with his truck tyres and would get up to 15% better wear out of them
Yeah, and eating your crusts makes your hair go curly..

ask any fleet manager if storing the tyres for about 3 months before fitting them makes a difference the theory behind it is with the tyres having longer to cure the rubber gets harder

NZ terrain generally is aloy less harsher ( muddy'er & softer ) than other parts of the world for tyres . I'm from Aussie and alot of areas the rocks are really sharp & jaggered- out bush/desert and they can tear your tyres open if your not carefull .
I also find that the NZ market for 4x4's & offroad equipment is alot smaller than most other places( not that many tyre manufacturer's ) over this way, the amount of stuff that Aussie has over NZ is amazing , that difference again is the difference between Aussie to yanky land .Stuff over there is amazing and how cheap it is just makes your mouth water ( half the price or less than here ) !

We've been running Mickey Thompsoms Baja Claws on the Rally truck for 2 seasons & love 'em.
There is a MASSIVE difference between the true claws & the radial copy - For mud & ruts they seem to be thr bogs balls - we often keep on going where others fail - this applies as much in the bush as in comps.
That said I don't reckon they'd last long on the road - just running around on the gravel in Pureora wrecks them

The truck is heavy for a rally truck but much lighter than most road legal bush trucks - maybe this makes the difference

If at first you don't succeed .... Get a bigger hammer!!
