Hey guys,
Got a few questions about my new tuck:
1) best place to get a quality snorkel like safari etc ?
2) in terms of water crossings covering the ecu due to its location and diff breathers ?

1kzte motor *
Cheers

Kzj78*

Locating to advervise to get snorkel fitted?

Always fit diff breathers if crossing water get them high up on fire wall

And ecu position is in behind dash as far as im aware, if you get water up into it you have bigger things to worry about

The 1KZTE is a KZJ78..... Unless you swapped the motor over.
The ECU is normally inside the glove box up high... So unless water is in over the steering wheel you are all good. (unless its been put somewhere else as above)
Snorkels, you will probably need to get a std 70 series one and then make an adaptor to fit it to the air box as as far as I am aware there is no straight out of the box bolt on the the square prado....
Diff breathers are easy to do, pull off the little extension and route them up higher with some more tube....or into the air box...
There is also a breather on top of the transfercase which is a bitch to get to.... that one will need extending too.

Have fun

The ECU is positioned above the glove box.

Have what sounds like a scrap coming from the back left corner when turning right at normal speeds. Checked breaks seemed fine, definitely not guard rub maybe bearings or something ? Bit lost cheers

It's a hard call without hearing the noise but one thing that can give you random noises, - more clunks than scrapes though - is flogged out rear bushes. The rear axle end ones on the LJ/KZJ are quite wear prone.

remember that sounds can move and it may seem to come from one place but could end up being something completely different. It could even be your tyre rubbing on the exhaust in the R/F wheel arch. But yeah as said above, hard call without seeing/hearing it. Any guesses will be just that, guesses.

Tow points question?
Will aftermarket tow hooks that the likes of 4wd bits sell bolt into the factory holes after removing the factory front tow eyes on my kzj78 or will some modificaiton be needed. eg- drilling new holes.
TIA

No. You will need to fabricate brackets or fit a bar.
