would any of our Surf owners be able to advise an approx cost to change from std Surf exhaust system to 2 1/2 inch system????

I'm in Christchurch, and have had quotes vary from $350-$800, all in mild steel, press bent from turbo downpipe back with just a couple of resonators.
Have a ring around, most places seem to have done a few and can give you a good indication. The lowest quote for me was from a V8 & race car specialist, so pays to think outside the square sometimes.

What did you get, just a couple of resonators to muffle the 2.5", of a proper muffler? How loud is it?

got new muffler, not too loud, but definite difference in tone of exhaust.

What's the point if you're not replacing the factory dump pipe aswell? This is the most restrictive part of the system and if you're going for a whole new exhaust system why not do it completely for max benefits.

Sweet, I run 2.5" press bent mild steel off the back of the turbo with no muffler. Sounds awesome when you're givin it jandal but it's a bit 'Powered by John Deere' at idle haha.
