Waipara Respect & Support Trip - Sunday 14th January 200

Post by Leithfield »

For those who remain sadly unaware, a much respected forum member H2OLOVA (Jase), experienced the tragic loss of his beloved 14-month old son (Murphy), to cot death over the Xmas.

In his respect, and in support of Jase, Rachael and their two beautiful daughters, I propose a picnic-lunchImage Imagedrive down the Waipara on Sunday 14th January 2007.

I would ask that wherever possible forum members attend, and further extend their demonstration of sympathy and support by way of baking, Imagedonating groceries, or a grocery voucher.

The trip is suitable for all 4wd vehicles (not cars) equipped with rated tow hooks and carrying rated recovery ropes. As with all river trips, a snorkel is strongly advised but not mandatory.

It is proposed to assemble on the grass verge immediately north and just left of Pukeko Junction* @ 1100 on Sunday the 14th of January, whereupon all those who wish to divest themselves of donations before proceeding may leave the same at my residence (a short distance away). Thereafter, and conditions dependant, I will lead a trip from Stringers Bridge to North Pegasus Bay. If other O.R.E. Members are able to co-assist, I would be very grateful.

This is a family trip (though as always, technical sections will run parallel for those who desire a challenge), with ample opportunity for the wee ones to enjoy picnicingImage

and swimming

Alcohol may be consumed in moderation during picnic.

I will conduct a recce early on the morning of the 14th, and any amendment to route or postponement will be forum advised by 0930.

Hope to see you there.

Leithfield
(Kevin)

P.S.
- * Pukeko Junction is a cafe/winebar situated approximately 16 minutes North of Woodend, and prior to Amberley. Heading North from Christchurch, it is on the left side of State Highway 1, immediately opposite the signposted (R) turnoff to Leithfield Beach.

I am truly sad to hear of the loss of their child and I can’t imagine what they are going through at the moment. Although we all have bad times in our lives a tragedy like this brings it into prospective and they appear trivial in comparison. Please pass on my heart felt feeling to Jase and his family.

Although I’m not a religious person by nature they will all be in my prayers.

My Sympathies go out to Jase & Family

Post by Mudsurfer »

Words are never enough in a time like this, however I wish to pass on my sincere condolences to Jase and Family, we have a 9 month old girl who we love very much and can hardly imagine her being taken from us. I hope you have alot of support around you at this difficult time. I will be there for the trip, coming along with Aaron. I hope everyone who can make it will be there to give you some much needed support and encouragement.

Thanks guys. As you can imagine the last 2 weeks have been an absolute nightmare for our whole family. Its something that you know would be terrible but until it actually happens you just don't realise how hard it hits you. The support we have had from our family and friends has been fantastic, and we have had some surprising phone calls from complete strangers who just want to extend their condolences, this sort of thing really restores your faith in human nature. Murphy was 14months old and was a twin to our wee girl Lily, the effect it has had on her is quite surprising for one so young but i guess for her the person besides Rachell and I that had been around her whole life has gone so she is getting lots of extra love and cuddles at the moment, as is Eden our oldest, she is 2 and a half. It would never be a good time for something like this to happen but i guess because it was xmas we had both the camera and video camera out on xmas day so we have some excellent footage of our wee man that is as recent as it will ever get. and although it rips at you we have watched it over and over again. I really appreciate the thought behind this trip and will most certainly be there with Eden my eldest. I certainly won't be offended by anyone who can't make this trip.

LEITHY, you have my full support and I will help out in any way I can .
This is one post I didn't want to read. This highlights a disadvantage of using nom de plumes as sign ons, we don't get to know fellow members surnames and this makes it difficult at times like this.
I have spoken to Jason and Rachel , and under the circumstances they are doing fine with lots of support from family and friends.
Jason is hopeing to be on the trip on sunday.
So come on ORE, lets get with LEITHY on this trip, arrive in numbers and support H2OLVA and Family.

IN REMEMBRANCE OF MURPHY,

FITZY

I'll be attending whether as a passenger or bringing the LR out in support of Jason and family. While I can't possible know what you or your family is going through Jase I can only imagine that it is very very hard, and then truth be known that is most likely only half of what your really going through :?

I have added an option in the site for those wishing to express their condolences through the following support option.

O.R.E. Bereavement Support for H2OLOVA & Family

If you are unable to participate in the remembrance trip, and would like to make a small financial contribution towards the purchase of necessities which will support H2OLOVA (Jason) & his young family during this sad time of grieving, please register that donation via the following link:
