LN160 Shackles

Post by yourlocalheadhunter »

Im looking to make a 2" lifted shackles for my hilux LN160.

My question is does any know the overall length these need be to gain a extra 2" lift? As i believe by adding 2" to current factory dimensions doesn't give you a 2" lift.
Please correct me if im wrong,

Thanks in Advance

Adding 2 inches to your shackle gives approx. half that in lift, as you axle is half way along the spring and as such only gets moved half as much.
You will need to get lifted springs, and/or longer shackles to get 2 inches of lift.

Cheers man, Looking into a spring lift kit as we speak but have some free time so am looking to make some shackles to get some lift for time being esp in the front as my 33s seem to hit the body slightly.

There is a seam in the rear of the wheel arch most people fold over to eliminate cutting the tyres.
Consider cutting the bottom of the guards back closer to the body to give more room.
