1kz help many problems and im stumped

Post by matt303 »

hey guys, so I have just put 1kz into ln106 along with mechanical injector pump and new flowed turbo and having a few issues with it, its a little hard to start cold takes about 2-3 cranks to start, and rough idle for 10sec and a miss and then comes right, but when hot it won't start at all unless i prime it while turning it over and it will eventually start. second issue is i have real high oil pressure, past 80psi at 2-2500rpm and is at point its forcing oil past turbo seals. I have check pressure relief valves and 2 different brand oil filters, I have ended up cutting 2 coils off oil valve spring, it now holds about 45psi warm now. I have been over all basics and has me stumped what it all could be. cheers

the starting sounds like air in the IP. check for air bubbles in the fuel.

oil pressure.......what viscosity oil are you using?
check your gauge, make sure that reliable.
what the pressure measured when hot or cold?
if cold, possible pump relief valve isn't working. the other relief valves are just to stop the oil cooler and filter from damage.
otherwise i would suspect a blockage in one of the galleries.
