Manual/free wheel hub options

Post by Mazuki »

Hi all
I'm in the market for a pair of manual hubs for my 94 escudo.
There a few different brands on trademe (avm , force brand) and at varying prices.
Would be good to hear people's expericnece with either brand or suggest other brands available.
My truck is fitted with 31s and still has an open front Diff.
Cheers

Best I've seen are the Aisin ones that use the locking cones around the bolts. I think they're from a Samurai or something similar. I found that without the cones the hubs work loose and clunk between forward and reverse and the bolts would undo themselves.

Any idea where to source aisin hubs? Couldn't find a Supplier on the net. Just spotted super which, warn and mile marker brands off lowrange for similar prices to what's on trade-me. Anyone tried any of these ?

I've tried the Warn ones. You can get them working alright by using Loctite to glue them in.

You can buy the Aisin ones from ebay or try Suzuki wreckers (Mudbits will probably have something).
