ARB Switches Hot

Post by Henry »

Hi

I have fitted a couple of the ARB switches. And they are getting HOT when switched on. It is a the bulb in the switch.
I have done a search here and can not find anything. I have also done a search else where and find it is a common issue.
What I would like to know is what have people here done about it?

Thanks Henry

will only be the lamps if they are switching relays. if you are switching a direct load through them make sure they are rated to the load. can see how hot they are getting with a laser thermometer (readily available quite cheaply now) and i wouldnt be to worried about anything under 60degC (too hot to hold a finger on)

It's just the lamp as said earlier. If it's really an issue, then you could look at replacing the incandescent bulb with an LED alternative. I'm actually a little surprised that ARB haven't used LEDs in the switches already. When I first installed the switches, I noticed how warm they get, but didn't worry about it much.
