I am wanting a bit more pace from my pajero, since i have put on some 33's.
Im wanting to turn up diesel pump, but egts easily climb to 750*C pre turbo, when accelerating lightly. From what i have read this is quite high and not advised to increase fuel. (but are the egts really as critical as everyone goes on about)
any idea why egts are high?
currently I have a 2.5" exhaust, 14psi boost, i have checked timing on pump and is 7degrees ATDC.

hey mate, im not a mitsu guy, i run a safari with TD42 engine. So might be abit different to you, but for me anything over 600 is considered high, and the never exceed temp would be about 700. I rarely go above 550 though and that when hammering it.
a roughly tuned diesel will get high temps as not all the gasses are being burnt in the combustion chamber and so are being expelled from the cylinder while still burning.

Like i say, this could be way off as theyre totally different trucks and motors, but someone who knows better will be along no doubt.

egt's are fairly critical. on a good engine about 800c max pre turbo. on weaker ones it pays to dial it back it bit to 700c or even less.
intercooling will help as it reduces egt's.

Go for more intercooling, or at least make sure the silly little fan on the top mount isn't sized up
