Good for soft or thin sheet imo.
Wouldn't trust it tapping anything over 3mm.
Always think what if I snap the bastard in there.

was wanting to drill & tap holes in diff housing for putting kzj78 electric locker into kzj95 rear diff. be a bit thicker than 3mm, and the ring that it mounts to would be quite hard I would imagine?
might have to look at normal taps.
