Hi all.
Recently retired tanker driver (wine/cider), and have bought a '96 Prado SWB, diesel, auto.
Nice wee truck.
The wife and I are wanting to do some trips (before old age really kicks in!).
Not interested in gnarly adventures requiring snorkels, winches, etc.
Have been down through the inland Bullock Track to Alexandra so far (Winter time, not too much strain but fresh snow added some spice to the drive).
There were 6 vehicles and the 'leader' of the group had arranged keys and access through normally closed or private farmland areas.
So would like to join any others who prefer a more sedate trip (compulsory 'Happy Hour' every day at 4.30pm seems to be about right).
Will look at joining the Nelson club for their 'shiny' trips.
Would like to do Molesworth soon too.
Have driven a lot off road in my younger years, in my WW2 Chev 'Puddle Jumper' that I rebuilt.
Must admit I much prefer the Prado for the comfort and features. Seems to be a very capable wee truck too.
Look forward to meeting some of you one day.
