Never had this prob before but appear to have got an airlock
Fitted a new rad last few weeks back, trip to woodhill no prob.
Removed this weekend to fit new fans, when refilled, took for a brief run, temp snsor in top hose and hose real hot, rad barely warm. Note i hadnt refitted coolant overtank as its cracked, plan to fit after market one.
Wouldnt have thought this would influence airlock. Rad filled on slope.
Any thoughts?.

that's a bit unusual for a front mount radiator mate air rises so there shouldn't be anywhere to trap it, did you run the engine for a bit with the cap off so the thermostat could open and burp the air and circulate the coolant

hadn't specifically run it with cap off after filling. But had it on idle for some time and checked cap a few times.
Maybe I hadn't let it idle long enough for thermostat to open and allow air to clear.
First time in many years to be caught out like this. Little puzzled.
Will run it again and check.

Isn't the top hose meant to be hot and the bottom hose cooler.
