1KZ Auto not moving on cold start

Post by geckoadventure »

Hi need some advice please on my 1KZ Auto

Cleaned the auto filter last Saturday and new ATF fluid put in. However today the think on cold start (lol it's 23c overnight here in Malaysia) the thing ran backwards down the hill in "L" when I pressed the gas pedal . The issue was there previous week but now its way worse we thought changing the fluid would help.

Its fine after this and does not occur when warm. No hunting of gears nothing.

Any clues before I get it all stripped down.

My guess is blocked filter.
As the oil gets warms up, it thins up and is then able to pass through the filter
