I have been toying with this idea since I bought my first 1st gen Surf, now that I have a second one I am seriously comsidering it.
I have done a bit of research. I know I have read about it somewhere on this forum, before I become a member and now cannot find the thread.
So far the info I managed to geather is it is not a too difficoult conversion, 2 chassie mount has to be relocated, radiator mounts and hoses may have to relocate.
Any other pointers are appreciated.
I am looking to find out:
-Are the front seat mounting holes will line up? If not what other seats will bolt in?
- the gas tank: use a ln130 so the fuel inlet line up? will it bolt up, or new brackets needed? or modify the ln60 fuel tank intake to suit the new body?
Is there anything is a must in the 130 body for this conversion?( i know a lot of... ) the reasion I am asking as I may have a 130 patrially wrecked for a fair priece (mates rates) not sure what is missing, and I would like to avoid having a cheap garden ornoment due the bits missing is a must have and it is hard to find etc.....
At this stage I am geathering info as I still have to find out the legality of mating a de-reg body with a allready modified and certed truck.

i have put vzn130 front seats into a ln61 body on a ln60 chassis, and the holes lined up. just the rear right hole on the passengers seat didn't have a captive nut, but was easy to get to underneath for a normal nut & bolt.

the 60/61 and 130 fuel tanks mount up quite differently, modifying the intake would be the easier option, but if you can do your own welding and fabricating of mounts then wouldn't be too hard to swap. they are on the same side. if your doing a body lift then lift the tank the same amount.

if your swapping fuel tanks and making new mounts then another place to get it further out of harms way, and to distribute weight better, is up under the rear behind the rear diff, where the earlier 130s have the spare.

What knick is your body in? Ive spent quite abit on mine with engine conversion running gear etc but the bodies very rusty round window and firewall so am looking for new body could be keen on your shell if you wanted to part with it?

Sorry for the delay in reply, but now I am happy to report that according my doctor "my body is ok, for my age".

On the ather hand my surf s body is a bit ruff,a bit of rust here and there, paint is faded.
Unfortunetly the project is on hold untill I can find out if I can mate my 2 door surf with a de-reg 4 door body,( 2 officials, 2 different answer. )
I may have to look for a still registred 130 rolling body for the right priece,but if the build goes ahead I be keen to sell the shell and I ll PM you.
