TD42 Safe boost numbers

Post by tuckertrucker »

Hi guys and gals,

what would be the max safe boost numbers for a 92 Silvertop TD42? I was hoping for 15 maybe 17, also how to compensate for boost so Im not running lean? Do I have to get a boost compensator or can I just dial it up a bit or something?

It will handle that boost easily and some......depends whether your turbo will do it?.

Fit an egt gauge and probe, get it tuned properly and you should be good. You can fit a boost tap and adjust up or down slightly but it's all proportional to the fuel going in.

what turbo?

its down to what turbo you have and how high can it go before going horribly inefficient.

a boost comp fitted to the pump and set up costs mine was around $2500, bit of a pain to remove and reinstall too, :D
