FOR SALE - 1984 UK Ex-MOD Series III Lightweight

Post by Robbo »

Hello,

My name is Paul Robinson, I am writing to you from the Kapiti Coast near
Wellington.

In 2003 I imported my 1984 UK Ex-MOD Series III Lightweight short wheel
base Land Rover into New Zealand when we emigrated here, I am however
finding that I am not using the vehicle as we have a second car and it
has reluctantly become surplus to requirements.

I bought it fully re-built from a Land Rover specialist in the UK in
March 1999
( http://www.landrovercentre.co.uk/stock/ ... Rovers.htm )
and I have run it as mainly a road vehicle since that time therefore it
has been well looked after and is in excellent condition as can be seen
from the photos I have - Contact me and I will be happy to e-mail them to you.

It was re-built with many new components such as:

New Gearbox
New Clutch
New Fibreglass Internal Head Lining Complete With 4 Speakers and a Stereo
New Interior Fan Heater
New Front and Rear Seats
New Leaf Springs
New Tow Ball
New Jack
Converted to Run on Un-Leaded Petrol
New Radiator Grille Cover
Chassis Protected with Waxoyl Sealant
New K&N Performance Air Filter / Carbureteur Assembly
I have now added a bonnet mounting kit for the spare wheel

The chassis is in good condition which can be verified by the fact that
the vehicle passed the Registration and WOF checks when imported without any trouble, in fact it only had to have new seat belts fitted.

The vehicle was originally brought to the UK from Hong Kong where it was
used by the Ghurka Regiment.

It currently has 20,450 miles or 32,720km on the clock so as you can see
it has done very little milage, this was also checked and certified at
time of importation, with screen sticker confirmation.

Please take a look at the photographs and if you are interested in
purchasing it then please contact me to discuss it, alternatively, if
you know of any fellow enthusiasts that might be interested, I would be
grateful if you could pass on these details.

I am looking to sell it for $8400 as it is a rare example here, it is in
perfect working order, low milage and is in very good condition and is
basically a really cool looking model.

I also brought with me several key spare parts, these being:

Complete Exhaust System to Front Manifold
A Complete Set of Front and Rear Half Shafts
Some Spare Oil Filters
Gearbox and Cylinder Head Gasket Sets
Fuel Level Gauge for Fuel Tank
and various Light Bulbs

For the spares I would be asking basically what I paid for them in the
UK which is approx £200 or $560.

I am open to negotiation for sensible offers, hope this mailing is of
interest to you.

Thanks

Paul.

Hi Paul

I posted your listing onto a NZ Landrover forum as there are more people on there that would appreciate this vehicle. Might pay to have a nosey when you get a chance as there may be a response to me posting it

Hi Bill,

I have not come across 'Trademe', is that a local selling paper like Trade and Exchange or is it specifically for auto's only?

I have tried contacting a good few 4x4 clubs and I am just waiting now to see what sort of response I get.

Thanks for your interest.

Regards

Paul.
