just thought i might check with other saffy owners about how their oil pressure behave ok mine
4.2 non turbo 200,000 kms
when its stone cold it sits about 4, then once it heats up sits on 2 when driven and 0 on idle,
will only reach 4 when stone cold not like a couple of hours later when its cold again
also i did notice the tappets need adjusting, oh and it had an oil change 500km ago max
so what does everyone elses do

Sounds pretty typical of a stuffed oil pressure sender unit
If your worried fit an after market mechanical or electric gauge.
Idle Hot 20psi
100kph in 5th gear hot (2600rpm approx), 65psi
Cold idle around 60psi depending on how cold, how old the oil is, and what brand of oil.
80+ psi at 2600rpm cold.

Yep sounds like oil pressure sensor , mine did it about a month after I brought it ,A new one isn't cheap either for what they are I payed $70 for a replacement genuine part .It should sit just on or afraction over 4 at 2100 rpm in top gear and 2.5 ish at idle, well mine does .

Sorry guys have no idea where it came from as it was a car dealer that I brought my wagon off who supplied it for me. As for your light staying on thats a head scratcher , once I fitted new sensor the light disappeared and have had no probs since.

I have replaced a few of them seems to b a weak point. The diesels seem to have low oil pressure any way. One guy I know changed his oil, half a day later oil light was on and the gauge was still fine.
An after market gauge is a lot more reliable
