After purchasing a dual output gauge for my Boost and EGT in June (SYL-2813), the unit has failed (been in the truck for 1500km - no offroading).

The install and wiring is good, and has been checked by an auto sparky, but it will not power on.

Auberins have offered to extend the 90 day warranty and will attempt to repair it (will not cover shipping either way) or give a 30% discount if I repurchase.

I thought these gauges were reliable? Is there anything that I'm missing e.g. an internal fuse or something? Or are there some other alternative products around?

i havn't heard of anyone complaining about them failing before.
mine used to overheat in the sun when i had them on top of the dash.

got a good earth connect to it?

I have a dual gauge and only thing that crapped out was the boost sensor and they replaced it no worries.. Like above.. good earth and power connections..? as you will know they are programmable so those 2 things would be important..

I've had 3 Aubers running for 3yrs now and never had a problem. You might have just got the bad apple.

I have one of the dual channel gauges, it's a piece of shit, randomly changes temp for egt ( I can be sitting there without the truck running and it can change from 80 degrees to 500 at will.. I've always had the singles and never had any issues,

I have a twin egt and boost, the boost is fine but the egt is erratic. It can read 250c at key on and has shown over 1200 without my engine melting!

I have just fitted a new motor and a new head and am looking to fit an EGT gauge now.

main thing is features for the price.
digital gauge with alarm and recall. plus being able to configure it for different sensors which handy for testing ie change temp and egt to two temp gauges, or change to more reliable/better sensor.

I have had no issues with the singular gauges, have installed them in two of my trucks and they are still going strong

A quick google search seems to point to the dual gauges having issues...
I have been running the single gauges for at least 5 years now and no issues to date. (3 off them)

Keep us posted on what the outcome is.....

I hooked up the gauge directly off the battery (fused) and it was no-go. I then took the cover off the gauge and removed the insides and connected to the battery - no-go.

Perhaps a dry solder somewhere? I'm going to get a new unit anyway.

Off-topic slightly, but I like the look of the gauges in my Bighorn. I have mounted the gauge in one of the centre air vents, and the red and green LEDs match the rest of the vehicle.

I had a probe that went bad after 5 years and started showing random high numbers, but the guage is fine.
