Ute conversion for safari

Hey all, iv recently perchased an 88 lwb safari. Shes an absolute beauty apart from the roof which is absolutely rooted as is the case with many. I was looking at replacing it with a good one then saw some guys have converted the body into utes so that got me thinking again. Has anyone had theirs converted to a ute? Who did the work and what did it cost?
Either way the roof has to go just thought maybe I could do it all at the same time.

The only cert requirement is fir the cabin rear wall.
Cut behind the front seat seltbelt mounts and it will be a easy job for cert etc

Excluding tray and the cab roof rust but panel beater 2 to 4 days at a guess plus painting .
Budget $3-5k

Tray anybodies guess. How flash do you want it?
Rust is never quoted but has he will have the roof lining off etc he will have a better idea then.

Youre right they do look good. I would make the flat deck myself being an engineer, Im pretty hopeless when it comes to body work although I could manage it but it wouldnt look as good as id want it and its probably be easier to pay someone. I might go see a panel beater after work and see what they say about it then
