1997 Cherokee air bag light

Hi There,

I brought a 1997 Cherokee sport because it was cheap. Put it through a wof check and one of the things it failed on was having an air bag but no air bag light.

I have had a look on the dash and cant see anywhere there is meant to be an airbag light.

WOF fella said some vehicles have air bags but no warning light because they are mechanically operated not electrically operated.

Is this true for the Jeeps? Or is it more than likely that some previous owner has disabled the airbag light completely?

Cheers,

Pete

The Cherokee have mechanical air bag and therefore no warning light.
Can't be failed for a wof because of it.

Next issue, engine surges quite badly when light throttle say 50km/hr.

Put your foot down and she's good as gold.

Is this a common thing? Throttle position sensor maybe?
